Isaiah 41:10
Fear thou not; for I am with you: be not dismayed; for I am your God: I will strengthen you; yea, I will help you; yea, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness.
There’s a phrase that’s commonly used which encourages those who read it to, “do it afraid.” Even without having a relationship with Christ, the world is aware that we can still get much accomplished while we are afraid. There has been so many stories of people sharing their bouts with fear without allowing said fear to hinder their ability to move forward with their goals. So many success stories from business owners to college grads about how they did not allow the odds against them and the initial fear to keep them stagnant. So, why should those whose faith is in Christ fear? Scripture teaches us that the God we serve is mightier than any adversary! So, when we face opposition, we should see it as an opportunity to try God at His Word!
Easier said than done, right? However, we can’t keep making excuses for our disobedience. The difference between the world and us is that when we have instructions from God and fail to do it, it’s counted against us on a different level because we know better. Unbelievers are ignorant to the things of God and actively ignoring His voice because of sin separating them from having a relationship with Him. As for Christians, that is not our story. There is a responsibility that we have to not only accept God’s will for our lives but actively partner with Him in following His teachings and instructions. Yes, our steps are ordered but we are still held accountable in walking out those steps.
This means that we are not merely doing it afraid but doing it in faith! We have faith that God will keep His Word of seeing us through the process no matter how much fear tries to loom. Fear has no weight when God wars on our behalf! Remember your God in times of angst and uncertainty; He is faithful to His promise! If He trusts you to the work then surely we can trust Him to help us complete it. Take heart that the focal verse reads, “I am your God.” This means we belong to Him and have authorized access whenever we need or want to talk. He’s not disappointed that you are reaching out because you’re afraid. He’s delighted that His child trust Him enough to share their feelings in real time. Don’t allow how others have treated you in your time of weakness to shape how God loves you. He will not shame you but shape you into the image of His Son as you walk out your obedience. Be blessed!
