What a week America has experienced! I know there are many saddened by the outcome of the election. Some fear that their rights will be yanked away from them. Others fear that their freedom will be snatched swiftly and horridly by this time next year. With all of these concerns, we must understand that no matter who won that election God still sits on the throne. Don’t forget that the enemy is dangerously cunning. He wants us to be so engrossed with who didn’t vote for Kamala or who didn’t vote at all that we are devoured in senseless arguments. Senseless arguments that leads to shattered relationships and fractured friendships! What kind of impact can we have on the world, if we are carrying on the same behavior as they in such a sensitive time? Instead, what we should be doing as people of God is praying! Last time I checked, prayer still changes things. One thing to note, in case you forgot is that Revelation is still coming to pass.
It’s not just a cute and deeply-colored way to end the wonderful book we call the Bible. Revelations is a prophetic declaration – it’s prophetic intel! A careful reader would see what is happening in today’s society and connect that the end is closer than we think! This means there will be situations, leaders, and events taking place that will not be to our liking or satisfaction. Remember, Jesus still has to come back for us and certain things need to take place before He comes. I know some may not want to read this at the moment. You may be waiting on me to do a write up on how America has failed us once again and the black plight is forever lost in a sea of white supremacy.
Sorry! There are plenty of blogs writing their hopeless woes and despondency on the internet. However, I am here to declare that I still have hope in Christ! This looks like an intentional resolution to choose the heart of a watchmen for Jesus – committed to being alert and praying for my country and its leaders. While doing so, still remembering some things have to come to pass, but resting in all things work for the good of them that love the Lord, to them who are the called according to His purpose! I am choosing to still believe God and live my Christian life out loud. Worry may come knocking at my heart’s door and frustration may visit my mind from time to time but they can’t stay! I transfer those burdens in exchange for the peace of knowing what the end will be – God wins! God wins and He never needed an electoral vote. All He asks is for willing hearts. Will you be a willing heart today? Choose faith in the midst of fear!
