Judge 1:1 Now after the death of Joshua it came to pass that the children of Israel asked the Lord, saying, “Who shall be first to go up for us against the Canaanites to fight against them?”

As Americans, we hear God bless America time and time again. Has anyone ever pondered to declare that God would judge America? We speak with such disdain as it relates to the evil in this world and justice not being served. It is then when we start to question the character of God towards evilness being done to “good” people. As if evil should only be reserved for other evil people. If we knew God like we claim we did, we would understand that He is against wickedness in its entirety. Meaning, He has no respect a person when it comes down to it because God hates evil with perfect hatred. Whether it is being done to an equally evil person or a self-proclaimed goody two shoes, He looks at it all the same.

It’s all the same because we are all the same – sinners needing a Savior! So, God judge America. As we are approaching Election Day, there’s a similarity in our posture as with the Israelites in the focus verse. Their leader died without raising up another to follow after him. What a poor way to leave. Especially, since he was afforded the opportunity to assist his leader before his passing. So, to not lead in the same way he was engrafted in is quite ignoble! Maybe I’m being a bit harsh but there should’ve been more thought as it relates to who would govern the people of Israel after his rule. This is where America stands today. Our vice presidents aren’t as capable or trustworthy as we want to believe they are to efficiently and honestly run this country. We are now in the same predicament and posture as the Israelites to truly and fully trust God with whoever is selected as our next president and vice president.

Don’t let the spirit of fear make you forget that the end was already declared in revelations – God wins! Not only does God win but He will judge! Everything that people scoffed about God not seeing or correcting will be brought to the ultimate light! Nobody will be able to hide or escape the judgment of God and His wrath will be sweet and swift. Remember the Bible states that Jesus will be coming like a thief in the night. This means the very minute others may think that He is tarrying will be the very second those trumpets will sound! Every knee will bow, even the unrighteous ones! As the court stands at attention for the judge in the natural, so will our bodies for the God of all judges!

So, please do not allow these upcoming elections make you forget Who’s the real leader of this country and world! God will judge and has judged more than your brain can comprehend and nothing is hidden. There is a record of it all – including the things we have done and not done. Continue to put your trust in God no matter how the votes sway on Election Day.
