Dear Grandmother,
A woman I never got the pleasure to get to know but heard so much about. I look at your picture and see myself. We’ve never met but somehow I carry you with me. The lessons you taught my father were not for nought. He courageously instilled in me the same values. I say courageously because it’s not a light thing to live as boldly for God as he did. I can see that you helped teach him well. So much so, that it has been a well that springs in me.
You’d be tickled to know that I like mine dark too. Outside of looks my fiancé is someone you’d want me to sprint down the alter to wed. He’s everything you prayed for your grandkids to marry. Thank you for praying. I often take for granted how blessed my life is and how diligently you prayed. The visions you must’ve had before taking your last breaths in Peace. I’d like to think God allowed you to see my face. The child that wasn’t planned but purposed to live wholeheartedly for Jesus. Religion wasn’t passed down, but colorfully lived. One of the main things I’m grateful for in regards to my family – how to serve God and your family.

You served both very well. I won’t say I hope to be as great a wife or mother as you. I do pray for God to continue to strengthen me in my faith as I enjoy what this next chapter brings. I pray in gratitude of having a firm foundation of what a wife and mother looks like in Christ. You served both God and your family well and I pray to do the same. I love you, grandma Moffett. Thank you!
