Col. 3:2 Set up your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.
Contentment. Something so simple shouldn’t bring so much anxiety. Maybe because we weren’t taught to be content. When we turn on our televisions or open an app we see people chasing, striving, pursuing all the things but…contentment. It’s hard to realize victory is our real birthday suit…salvation. Because my eyes are glued to things not given from You…distractions.
I’m learning that contentment has more to do with Peace than things. So even through death I win. Yeah, death where is your sting? Even in grief, Liberty rings its bell because what Jesus did more than sufficed. So here’s to 2021 with its lows and highs. The silent tears that only You know. My loved ones I will dearly miss. My luxury is Grace and that’s worth way more than a cartier bracelet.
So Lord I pray You continue to keep me as I keep Your Word tucked away in my heart. It’s the only thing that will last. It’s the best thing I’ve got. And with that, I’m content.
This year was very tough for me. I was angry, frustrated, distracted, grieving, but more importantly Loved! Jesus never stopped loving me and even with the hardships, I find myself seeking the contentment Paul so wisely discussed in Phil. 4:12. Here is my last post of the year. If you also had a trying year, I pray you end with Hope. I pray you end knowing Jesus loves you too much to hurt you. Believe again. Rest in His Peace and be joyful in The Hope we have in Christ. It’s the only thing that will sustain us because it’s divinely given from The Only Wise and Mighty God! Be blessed and see you in 2022!
