Uninvited Guest – Anxiety

Bye Anxiety!

Hi Rose Buddy!

This week’s uninvited guest I would like to discuss is Miss Anxiety! A guest that has intruded so much we have started to think she is supposed to stay. Similar to her cousin, fear, she ruins the party of life for us. In the medical field, they have classified her has even being disorderly. Yeah, not fun! The complete opposite of fun actually. Although life may come with worry, it doesn’t have to mean that we should live a life of worry. Principally for Christians, living with anxiety is optional. It does not have to rule our lives because we have help!

Now, this is not to take away from real life circumstances. I am definitely not saying that as Christians we never worry or experience nervousness. Absolutely we do! Listen, life happens to us all. Point being, this pandemic we are still facing. Christians weren’t exempt from getting COVID, being furloughed, unemployed, or working while at risk during the height of the corona virus. Those same daunting questions of how much tissue will be left to do I have enough food flooded our minds too. The difference is we don’t have to drown in the flood of thoughts that abrasively enter our minds. The Bible teaches that when the enemy comes in like a flood, God raises a standard against Him. In 2 Corinthians God urges us to capture those invasive thoughts that tries to set up camp in our minds. Those simple instructions speaks power to what we have control of on our end. Why would God urge His children to do something that we wouldn’t be able to do? Don’t kid yourself into thinking anxiety is apart of who you are. Anxiety is an outsider, a robber, and a liar. So how do we take these thoughts captive?

I’m glad you asked! Thankfully there are local Christian therapists who can aid in more serious mental wellness. Even if you have been diagnosed with anxiety disorder, that label does not have to be your identity. The Bible says we are MORE than conquerors. To me that simply means in Christ, victory is a habitual place. Read that again. I said in Christ, victory is a habitual place…in our mind that is. So, again reach out to Christian therapists. Understand the necessity of having a church home! Connecting with a local Christian community helps tremendously because we are not here to do life alone. Just as much as someone can help you with your anxiety, you can help someone else with their struggle because we all struggle with something. So, get into a Christ filled environment where you can be of service as you too are being served. Lastly, call unto God! If you truly want to be free, God will indeed honor your plea. BAAARRRSSS!! I swear, I do this without trying guys. Ha! But yes, God delights in our freedom. He Perfect Will is for us to be free which includes a life not dictated by anxiety.

To better help with that, I have created an exercise when anxiety tries to rear it’s ugly head! Just most on over to Tag! You’re It and you will see a FREE document to work on in your leisure time. If you don’t feel you need it, keep someone else in mind. Also, check out the correlating YouTube video on my channel. Okay guys, see you next week. PEACE!!

Heavenly Father, thank You for always assuring me that You will never leave or forsake me. For the moments of being unsure, worried, and fearful of what’s to come help me to rest in what is. What is true, what is right, and what is of good report as Your Word proclaims, that’s where I want to mentally achieve. I don’t want to live a disorderly life when You have promised me freedom. Direct me to the right people, resources, and church to help me live through my diagnosis. Freedom may look different in each believers life. but it is not optional. I want to know how freedom looks on me and in me, in Jesus Name, amen!! ✞♡︎
