It’s Above Me

Thanking you guys for 100 likes!! God has brought this blog a long way and I am truly grateful for each share, like, comment, and click! Here’s to many more and thanks again!!!

Colossians 3:1-2 Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things

It’s still day 3! I would like to discuss a bit about how important it is to keep our hearts fixed on Heaven. In a world pushing the agenda of glorifying self, it can be easy to lose the true sight as to Who and What we are to focus on in our day to day lives. God had to bring this scripture back to my memory in order to show me how far off my focus has been. I fell into the trap of self-ambition. If this is you or perhaps someone you know may be experiencing this then keep reading.

The first part of this verse shook me. It states since I’ve been raised with Christ, meaning a raising to a certain degree has already happened. It ties back to the miracle of salvation and the idea of being born again. So in other words, since I am a new creature old things have passed away and behold I am made new which can be found in 2 Cor. 5:17. Being raised with Christ means our standards and views are also raised. Our stock has went up and we follow a different ruberic opposed to the world. We don’t fall into the system of chasing worldy effection or achievement, but our hearts should continually be saturated in the Word of God which will keep us heavenly minded. This is apart of setting our hearts on things above. He used the word set to show it takes some action on our part to command ourselves, meaning our flesh, to do this.

Our flesh goes against God’s Will every time! This is why we can’t adhere to it. The world teaches us to follow our heart and do what “feel” is right when The Word clearly says to set our heart where Christ is to further prove our hearts are not trustworthy. What we feel has nothing to do with the truth of Christ and the Will of our Father for our lives. The more we settle in that, the less entangled we will be in worldly traditions. Living our best life is a catchy quote, but don’t be fooled into believing the best is earthly.

God’s best for us is not limited to what we can achieve here, but what He can accomplish through us. The scripture is not talking about just wait until you die and go to Heaven. It’s explaining that while we are here, there is still an expectation to be Christ focused. The world is crying out for a Savior and we, the church, have to lead the way. Leading the way is always pointing back to Who is The Way, Jesus. This is setting our minds on things eternal. Living a life for Christ is constantly dying to our desires, ways of thinking, and wanting to please self. Even the self-care can be a bit dangerous without limitations because it promotes us putting ourselves first. We are to always remember we were not only called, but raised. Believers are raised with Christ. So, we no longer choose to serve dead thinking. If you are not saved or have not yet been raised with Jesus please know that it is available to you. You don’t have to be overwhelmed with chasing the things of this world and constantly coming up short and empty. The money, attention, status, means nothing without the Peace, Love, and Hope Jesus FREELY gives to those that love Him.

I urge you to try Him and His way of thinking. Don’t let the cares of this world continue to weigh you down. It was never God’s Will for us to live a life based on a fallen scale system. Fall into the Will of God which is a life of abundance in Christ! See what I did there? Fall, because you know, it’s fall? Yeah? No? Too corny? Well, either way you get it. When life throws curve balls we have to confidently say, “It’s above me!” Why? Because although we are limited, our God is limitless. He has hidden treasures that this world can neither give nor take away. Fall into the Love of Jesus and be raised in His likeness. The world needs to see Him in you.

Okay until next time rose buddies, PEACE!

To your question, I will be alerting the support team.
I will also like to ask you a few questions. Have you clicked the button that says “flourish?” If so, what is happening after you click it? Is there an error message or nothing happens at all?
