Marissa was born and raised in Vicksburg, MS. Writing has always been in her roots and officially started sprouting in 2012. That year she began her role as youth theatrical leader at her local church in MS. From there, she wrote several plays and personal devotionals. Around 2014, her good friend, Kim Smith, asked Marissa to help co-write on the blog titled,  Fearless-Faith.  It wasn’t until 2018 that they both launched their very own sites.   What a journey!  Kim was the first person to encourage Marissa to make her writings public to the world and for that, she will always be grateful.

In faith, Marissa ventured off to New York in 2016 at the age of 25. With the help of family, she saddled her belongings and courageously drove across the country with faith and a few dollars (literally).  That story can be broken down much later which means you might as well subscribe. Just saying! No pressure though.

As far as the title, Written Rose Petals, was a name given to Marissa by God.   Written Rose Petals illustrates that God’s Love isn’t effected by the thorns of life. Rather it’s powerful enough to affect us even while experiencing pain. She writes honestly and with conviction hoping to reach as many as she can showing how relatable God is and how much He cares for us.  You will see records of His Love, Favor, and Purpose being lived out loud on this blog. Once you subscribe (hint, hint), you will discover love in written form and encouragement for that same Love to be embraced, shared, and displayed in your life as well.

This is a place for edification, laughter, conviction, revelation, and development no matter what’s happening around us. Marissa shares past experiences as well as current ones where you can see how far she has come and also watch her grow with you!  It’s all about flourishing in this life TOGETHER which is why there is also a section to showcase others like yourself. See! Not stingy with the spotlight over here 🙂
