Thankfully, Forgiven.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone! With the holiday season welcoming us with pumpkin spice and everything nice, my hope is that you remember how blessed you truly are. This time is normally a moment to reflect on what we are grateful for and share that gratitude with loved ones near and far. Even if the year has not been the greatest for you, I still want to encourage you to take time to write out at least five things that you are grateful for. As you write, pair it with a Bible verse and meditate on that scripture.

Taking moments to pause and digest the Word of God is so vital to strengthening our faith in hard seasons. Our circumstances, the enemy, and our natural response is to turn away from God when we are going through difficult times, but as children of God we have access to Him in a way that brings comfort and peace to what looks challenging and chaotic. Because God’s Word is living, we can be encouraged in knowing as we meditate on the Living Word that it will shed light in dark areas of our mind and come alive to dead parts of our lives!

One major way God has revived the dead in our life is through His Son Jesus Christ! If we fail to remember five things to be grateful for I admonish you to write down that Jesus forgave your sin and saved you from hell. Jesus rescued you from the captivity of your flesh and sin! Jesus delivered you from the hands of the enemy! Jesus promised you a more abundant life in Him as a believer. Jesus is coming back for you and He has secured your mansion in Heaven! Even as I am writing this out, the excitement is brewing in my heart.

That’s what gratitude does – it unlocks endorphins and regulates our minds to remember that there is much good to be grateful for. My hope is that you allow God’s Word and His promises over your life to keep you in the thickest of times and darkest of hours. Let the love of God warm your heart and comfort you during this holiday season because thankfully you are forgiven! Be blessed!
