Radical Acceptance

Romans 10:11-13 For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.
For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him.

We live in a world where so many are longing to be accepted. There are cries for validation packaged in thirty second clips and colorful carousel posts on most if not all social media platforms. Crying to be heard, seen, and valued from people they will most likely never meet. Why? Well, most don’t have a relationship with God and they think somehow thousands of likes and comments from strangers will fill that void. Those who do know Christ that still fall into that same trap, forget that they are fully known and completely accepted by God.

Now, this isn’t a post to wag my finger at just the content absorbers and creators because those examples are not the only ways we fight to feel accepted. Some also fight to be the highest spender because they equate money to power and love. Others fight to climb the social ladder because they believe the right circle will make them more successful and fulfilled only to find the same emptiness they’ve tried to fill grow wider and wider. Truthfully, there is no greater or fuller acceptance that compares to that of Christ.

This may be a bold statement to read but understand God accepts us in all of who we are and all of who we are not and still loves us the same. That’s what makes it incomparable because those other groups and things we chase will always let us down. We will continually find ourselves posting for that next like or climbing the next ladder only to find that quest is never ending nor truly fulfilling. The same people we are trying to get validation from need the same God as us. It’s the trick of the enemy to make us believe that finite beings can produce endless satisfaction. Even logically it doesn’t make sense because nature teaches us that things begat after its own kind. In short, imperfect, feeble, and limited people cannot produce endless satisfaction or complete fulfillment in others. As much as it’s not logical it’s also not biblical. Only God has been proven and recorded in history as being the ultimate satisfaction for our souls. As well as providing the acceptance and validation that we so desperately long for as we so blindly look for it in other things. So, seize this moment as your opportunity to experience that freedom on today. Don’t let another day go by feeling exhausted in your soul from not feeling accepted by others. Know that there is a God Who not only wants to accept you but reconcile you back to Him through His Son, Jesus Christ.

I pray you receive Jesus in your heart on today. My prayer is that you come to the end of yourself and recognize that you need a Savior to rescue from worldly validation and to be Lord over your life. Let your heart find rest in Jesus and I assure you that life will never be the same.
