The Power to Persevere

Hi guys and welcome back to day six of gratitude week! Today, I’d like to share my thanks to God regarding His strength to persevere through moments of difficulty and despair. Let me be the first to say that working a full-time job and content creating on the side is not an easy feat! There has been many times that I’ve wanted to give up and in the words of the TikTok sound yell to God to “get somebody else to do it!”

Even with all of my efforts of fighting against His will, somehow I still find myself doing the very thing I detested. This isn’t something that happens because I simply put my mind to it but a a divine intervention from God to strengthen me for the work He has set before me to do. God’s Spirit reminds me through scripture, encouragement, as well as my friends, and my husband that I can’t give up. Giving up always seems like the easier option, but it’s not easy to live with a permanent decision because of a temporary emotion.

Oftentimes, my feelings will instruct me to give up when I am on the brink of breakthrough or the cusp of victory! What God is teaching me, is to see the circumstance through the end and the same goes for you! Whether it’s content creating or serving in your local church, do not allow your feelings to decide your obedience to God.

Your feelings will trick you into believing that you’re being overlooked. So, you leave that church prematurely when God wanted you to stay planted. You couldn’t see afar off that God desired to use you to shift the culture of that environment! There may be some obstacles that you may face as an entrepreneur such as lack of support or lack of residual income. So, you quit before that provision comes for someone to invest in your business and give you the very support and backing that you need.

This is why perseverance is so important because we don’t know what the end of the thing is for us. Our feelings aren’t deciding factors, especially pertaining to the things God has called us to do. So, I implore you to persevere, stay in the fight, and keep trusting God no matter how bleak it may look for you. Remember that you giving up is bigger than you! The enemy would love to influence one more person from God’s side to put down their plow because he knows that time is running out.

Don’t be deceived by your emotions! Continue to believe that the same God Who brought you to it will perform the work in you until it’s completed. I pray that you persevere and see the work of God completed in your life! What a privilege it is to persevere through pain, hardship and despair with God’s help!

Heavenly Father thank You for strengthening our backs and fortifying our hands to continue to do the work that You have assigned for us to do. We love You and count it a blessing to carry out Your glory in the earth in Jesus Name, amen!
