There’s this theory that what happens to us in life is based on our own positive or negative output. That if we try with all of our might to see that silver lining, then everything will work itself our for us. Just typing that was exhausting. To truly believe this is to utterly forget about God. As Christians, we have to be mindful of the doctrines we subscribe to and apply to our lives. Yes, God told us not to allow our minds to dwell on negative or evil things. However, the ability to do that was never solely on us to carry out.

Firstly, we should be meditating on God’s Word because that’s where the good and pure things are found. There is nothing that’s going to sustain us outside of what will never fade which is His Word. Satan has been trying since the early church to distract the people of God with seemingly good things that have nothing to do with God and to keep those whose don’t know Jesus to continue not knowing Him. God wants us to study His Word so that we can combat these lies with what is real and spread that Truth to the world. What is real is that life happens to us all. The Bible teaches that the rain will fall on the just and unjust. Since God is good outside our own merit, He is then good to all. Yes, His children get blessed differently but He is still waking up those that hate Him. Law of attraction can’t do this because it is only merit reciprocal. God is good to those who aren’t even good to Him. Just as well this also relates to when bad things happen to us. I know we want to live in a world of comfort and roses but due to sin of man, that is not possible. Unfortunate times will happen, but while being believers we are promised to not suffer alone and that our sufferings are not to be compared to the Glory that will be revealed in us through Jesus.

Even looking at my own life, He was good to me when I wasn’t thinking about Him. Had it not been for Jesus, I would have never had an opportunity to live in Heaven for an eternity nor be seated in Heavenly Places on earth. God provides Grace for my ignorance and mercy for my wrongs. This is the law of real Love. This is the law Jesus fulfilled on The Cross. This is what Christian’s should live by and apply to our lives. So that we can be living letters of The Gospel.

Lord, thank You for sending Your Word as a guide in all Truth. We need you more and more as this world continues to entice us with what attracts our flesh. I pray we are able to fight against it with Your Truth in Jesus Name, Amen!
