Being human is an excuse we often use 

To justify the wrong that we do

All while forfeiting the gift

Of giving God praise for salvation

A praise the angels can’t give

Because we rather cling to our ways

For temporal satisfaction

What a deadly game

I pray our eyes become open

And we finally see

What it truly means to be a human…being.

Hi Rose Buddy! You have made it to day five of the December writing prompt. It is Christmas Eve and what a perfect topic to discuss! Jesus being born through a human and covered in human flesh took away our excuse as being born again Christians.

I was Led to write a poem to briefly describe what came to mind. There are so many writing points when it comes to being a human being. I chose to focus on the part where we use this as a badge of honor when confronted with The Truth. We try to reason with God and the people He sends our way to stay in the lifestyle we have destructively made for ourselves. Sure, we see some red flags, but we prefer to cling to the parts that soothes us. You know the parts that feed our emotional hunger. Meanwhile, our spirit man is withering in the fun that we have created for ourselves. I am reminded of the scripture, that speaks of how depraved the human mind can be outside of the rule of God. That what may seem like a soft life can lead to a disastrous eternity.

I pray you realize that the excuse of being human isn’t enough. That God knew our frailties and already made a way for us through His Son Jesus. We are mighty conquerors through Christ and do not have to keep living under the rule of our flesh and sin. To not be counted as those God repels as workers of iniquity with our humanity being our response for disobedience. Let this urge you to repentance and to be a sound witness.
