Hi Rose Buddy!
Imagine throwing a celebratory gathering and an antagonist decides to crash the party. Now, you’re familiar with this nemesis. Let’s just say you two were once frenemies. This frenemy was close, but never served you any good. However, due to such a long history, you keep the frenemy around because you don’t quite know life without them. There’s this awkwardness that enters because you’re aware they no longer serve you, but you are at a lost on how to bid them a proper adieu.
Well ladies and gents, this pesky, uninvited intruder is called fear. Yes, we all are familiar. Over time, we have developed this strange back and forth situationship with the measly rival. I say situationship because it is very…situational. Ha! Every time we have a goal, start a new job, even something as simple as trying a new restaurant fear has a way of crashing the party of life. As Christians, we have the liberty and Grace to disinvite fear when desiring to move forward and just simply live a healthy and productive life in Christ. Now, we are aware we have freedom in Christ. So, the war has already been won. Jesus defeated fear ever ruling our lives again on The Cross. Yippee! Yes, this is true but there is still work on our end. Still excited?
Even though the war is won we still have small battles we encounter daily. Those battles look different depending on the person, but the battle is still prevalent nevertheless. The Bible teaches us that God has not given us a spirit of fear but of power, and love & of a sound mind. Since God only gives good gifts and clearly fear isn’t one of them we have the right to say no! No fear you are uninvited.
To counteract fear we must be proactive. I encourage you to fill in the blanks where fear impolitely intrudes in your life. Write down repetitive occurrences when this thief tries to hold your present and future hostage. Even if it’s not repetitive, write out a current fear that has wiggled its way in your way. See what I did there? Really think about those paralyzing moments and apply the scripture in 2 Timothy 1:7. This scripture talks about what God has given us and what He hasn’t. After seeing on paper how fear is preventing progress, apply what God has given you to those same situations. For example, if it’s regarding a job you can say, “God has given me a sound mind and I am capable of making the decision to do xyz. He has given me His Love that covers and protects me. So I am able to welcome new, healthy relationships and will not be in fear due to past heartbreak.”
Got it? I will also be using this exercise as well because we are in this together. I pray these written Rose Petals touched your heart to action. Please read the prayer below シ
Heavenly Father, I pray for each reader to be free from fear. Even if the fear is truly getting to know Who You are as God and Father. I pray that hearts are open to receive Your Love into their hearts because You said those Who call on the Name of Jesus with their mouths and believe in their hearts that Jesus is Lord and that He died and was raised from the dead and will come back for His people that they shall be saved. Thank You Lord! I speak Freedom over minds that are imprisoned, hearts that are cold, and dreams deferred due to fear holding them hostage. You are Lord! Jesus You are Truth & You have given us the victory over two thousand years ago if we only believe. So thank You Dad for giving us the tools to disinvite fear out of our lives! Amen.
