Isaiah 40:26 26 Lift up your eyes on high, and behold Who has created these things, that brings out the starry host by number: He calls them all by names by the greatness of His might, for that He is strong in power; not one is missing.
It’s funny how nature has a way of humbling me. There have been times where I felt alone, depressed, and discouraged. In some cases, all at the same time, but I find myself at peace when I simply look up. Can anyone relate? Something about looking at the sky, trees, a starry night, the moon just keeps me grounded. Those moments bring a Peace that doesn’t come from mother nature, but acknowledging Who placed those things there, God! The featured image was captured by my iPhone. It was April of 2017 and I was sitting in my deceased mom’s car thinking about her. Parked in a lot outside one of the malls, my mind started to wander. What was supposed to be a trip to pick up a suit for my father to wear to her homegoing turned into a bleak moment of depression. Tears started to roll, but I was reminded to look up. To my heartwarming surprise I see this cloud in the form of a heart to show me I am still loved, my feelings are not overlooked, and that I am not forgotten. Now, this cloud could not verbally tell me this, but it was Who made the cloud that assured me. God’s Spirit spoke to me as I gazed into the sky and He was gracious enough to seal His Words with a heart. Some of you were probably looking to read something deeply profound and may very well be disappointed that I am writing about looking to nature to see God, but oftentimes, it can really be that simple. We often want this supernatural, out of the ordinary sign from Heaven when there are things we see daily that point to the mightiness and wonder of God.
Throughout scripture, God urges us to “look up.” Why? Looking up is an acknowledgment of sovereignty. It shows that we are not equal because I am unable to talk to Him face to face like a natural friend. In addition, it shows that He is not beneath me because the Word says that the earth is His footstool. Now, there are moments of reverence when looking down concerning God. Sometimes I bow in worship and in prayer. The point I am trying to make is when life, opposition, and obstacles try to put you in a headlock, look up! Look up towards the hills from which comes your help. Your help comes from God Who is above and not below. God is The One Who has created ALL and not one thing is out of its place. Surely He can keep you. He keeps the stars at night. He also keeps your enemies at bay. Sure you may be going through some things, but don’t miss the blessing in the lesson. We have to be tried with what we believe. Anyone can read and feel a satisfaction about God performing mighty works in His Word. What about when those times occur in our lives? What we read has to be displayed to grow our faith and also shed Light to others. When we look up, He looks out! He has our back and is intentional about fighting for us. God is not debating on giving us the victory. It’s us debating on if we are going to trust Him or not. Look up! Stop looking at your situation more than you look to God. Let’s put an end to consulting others about life decisions more than we talk to God. Look up! Lift up your head and know that God doesn’t fail at ANYTHING. Who else can place the sun in its place and it burns without ever being quenched? Who else can cause flowers to bloom every Spring without missing a year? Who else can create oceans without one drying out? Look up! If God can do these things in nature, how much more for His own children whom He so aggressively loves? Look up and watch God look out!

God literally just gave me this idea today so I will be playing catchup, haha. Until next time, PEACE!
